Gas Conditioning Scrubber
A gaseous scrubber removes harmful pollutants like SO₂, NOₓ, HCl, and VOCs from industrial flue gases through absorption, adsorption, or chemical reactions with a scrubbing liquid.
A gaseous scrubber is designed to remove gaseous pollutants such as sulphur dioxide (SO₂), nitrogen oxides (NOₓ), hydrogen chloride (HCl), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from industrial flue gases. The working principle is based on absorption, adsorption, or chemical reaction between the gas pollutants and the scrubbing liquid.
Scrubber consists of a vertical column filled with packing material. Gas flows upward while liquid flows downward, creating a large surface area for gas–liquid contact and absorption.
Types of Gaseous Scrubbers:
1. Wet Scrubbers: Use water or chemical solutions to dissolve and capture gases.
2. Dry Scrubbers: Use dry reagents like lime or sodium bicarbonate to react with gases (common for SO₂ removal).
3. Semi-Wet Scrubbers: A combination of water and dry reagents for optimized performance.
